05 Sep What not to do with Direct Message Facebook
“Messaging on social networks is a really powerful tool.
π΅ But when done in the wrong way, it can have negative effects!
Here is my list of things not to do!
π Sending automated messages; Automation has many benefits, but when the recipient perceives it, they won’t respond!
π Sending identical messages to everyone Learn to personalize your messages
π Not taking the time to look at the person’s profile before writing to them! Why send them a message then? It’s not solicitation you should do but building relationships!
π Trying too hard to make your sales pitch! Messaging is for building relationships; you’re talking to someone, show genuine interest in that person!
π Sending messages with your complete pedigree and even your cat’s color! Messaging is meant to be short and to the point.
π Writing a message that’s too long, Again, messaging should be simple; be concise and get straight to the point. Long messages can be discouraging to read.
π Sending links unless asked! If the person is interested, they will ask you for them!
π Using automatic responses except… if it’s well done!
π Not responding when someone writes to you A relationship is built over time! Make sure to schedule time to respond to your messages.
π Sharing your stories/posts all the time If the person is interested in your stories or content, they will check it out themselves!
π Sending ?? as a response to someone who hasn’t replied to you! In my language? ?? = ****
π NEVER FORGET TO FOLLOW UP If someone responds to you… you’ve started a relationship… follow up!
β In other words, messaging is a tool that allows you to build relationships with potential clients. Sometimes, you use it to create relationships, and sometimes with direct sales messages. But the important question to ask yourself is:
Would I respond to this type of message?”
